Walk to school for daily physical activity, a healthier environment, safer streets, making friends and ... having fun!
Students' from Grades 1 - 8 participate in the TDSB EcoSchools Program. We are trying to do our part to slow climate change! This blog is a way to communicate that is paperless!

Congratulations to all those students who walked, biked or rode their scooter to school on WED! Way to Go!! Our next official Walking Wednesday will be Wed. Nov 3rd - however - I think we will see many students encouraging their parents to leave the car at home every Wednesday!
Mr. Page and the Eco Warriors hope to see as many students as possible walking to school this WED. Oct 1 - this is our first official Walking Wednesday as a whole school. Walk, bike, or scooter your way to school and do your part to help the environment while getting some exercise!

WasteFree Lunch Tips
o Get children to help pack their lunches with healthy foods.
o Only pack as much food as your child will eat.
o Use a reusable lunch bag/box for carrying a lunch.
o Label all containers so they have a better chance of coming home.
o Use a refillable bottle for drinks – it’s cheaper and kids can save drinks for later! Avoid drinks in packaging that cannot be resealed. After a few sips, drinks are often discarded.
o Use a thermos for cold drinks or hot soups.
o Put sandwiches, muffins, etc. in ‘tupperware’-style containers, instead of plastic bags.
o Re-use plastic margarine tubs or washed milk bags for veggies & trail mix.
o Avoid pre-packaged, single-serving portions of snacks or drinks.
o Cut big items up so your kids save food for after-school snacking or recess.
o Put reusable cutlery and napkins in your child’s lunch box.
o Prepare extra food at dinnertime and use the leftovers for lunches.
o Minimize the morning rush (when you’ll reach for the convenience, over-packaged items) and pack lunches the night before and refrigerate overnight.
o Include fresh fruit and vegetables for a healthy lunch!
